Have fun making your own ceramic ornaments for holiday decor in this Portland ceramics class. Learn the basics of pinched pottery and hand-building, a technique that does not require a wheel - just your two hands!The workshop will begin with a pinched pot demonstration, including how to attach two pieces of clay, ways of sculpting it to form a desired shape, and using heat-resistant wire for hanging. All necessary tools will be provided, and students are encouraged to make multiple ornaments and experiment with creating different shapes.Ceramic underglazes will be provided for any students who wish to paint their ornaments.
